She felt very awkward.
Infact, nothing had been right since the Rebellion had been destroyed. They had come while she was nursing, and she couldn't do a thing except watch, fearing for the kits she had been forced to have. She had seen Abbadon struck down and killed. She had seen the rest be chased out. All while she watched, hidden in some brambles, hoping they would survive this war.
And they nearly didn't.
One attacked. One who didn't see the kits. And he attacked her, only to stop when the ginger one protested very loudly and tried to attack. "He should be a warrior, That one. Come with ShadowClan, And we'll keep you from harm."

[/b] He meant like a prisoner. That was what she felt like now. This was no home, this was as far away from home as she wanted to be. Her life had changed. She had a new name, so did her kits, and..It was torture. She was hidden away, and she wanted out. But it wouldn't happen. She was tied now to the place she hated, tied into the rivalries and stiffness of the clans. It wasn't her life. Maybe it was someone else's, but it wasn't hers. And now, trudging through the dark forest, She felt it pressing on her anymore. StarClan didn't exist. She knew there was nothing up there. It had been fixed into her mind, by one tom who had nearly won. "Abbadon. They talked of you so highly. Abbadon is unbeatable! He'll beat all the clans single handedly." He was dead now. What did it matter? The she-cat mocked him, words slipping off of her tounge as simply as ever. "He'll get us through all of it!" She lashed her tail angrily. "Yet you failed. Look where I am! I didn't even get to see my kits become noble..But then, maybe they will still have a chance..They shouldn't know their past, Nothing about it." She vowed. He was out. Without a mentor. He was just a tad bigger than he was before the war, his muscles were filling in nicely. A tall, lean, yet tree-climbing strong cat would be made from the tiny gray and white fluff. His icy greens spied out at the tree-littered area. He had no skill of hunting, besides a bit of a stalk, but nothing major. He had to perfect his skill, and time everything so precisely. His long gray tail twitched silently, brushing against a bit of bramble. He ripped across the clearing, pouncing. He landed on nothing, as his hind legs came down he watched as the brown form scurried off. He hissed, dashing after it, trying to trap it with his paws and pounce on it again.
The mouse escaped underground. Coldpaw scooped at the earth, trying to catch at its tail or body as it went down. He let out a hiss of annoyance, his tail lashing quietly behind him. The apprentice turned way, claws grinding at the earth as he padded away from the hole. The gray and white tom knew nothing of the she-cats presence, who was actually, close by, yet he didn't know it. His ears twitched, he thought he heard a feminine voice, sharp and angry. Maybe it was just the wind, but he doubted it, it sounded close by.
"Abbadon. They talked of you so highly. Abbadon is unbeatable! He'll beat all the clans single handedly." "Yet you failed. Look where I am! I didn't even get to see my kits become noble..But then, maybe they will still have a chance..They shouldn't know their past, Nothing about it." "Nothing."
He was interested in what she was saying. He knew of Abaddon, though he hadn't fought the gray tabby himself. He had fought some of the younger ones, the ones training like himself. He had of some of the horrible things Abaddon had done. Yet there was also rumors around that Abaddon's body had not been what it was moons ago when he was leading. His gray ears flickered back as he made his way through the brush. 'It's that Echosong girl....one of his followers...' he thought bitterly. Yet, she was welcomed into the clan. Her kits would become warriors of the clan, if she was sticking around for good.
"Echosong....I overheard...." his vocals monotone, he tried to sound friendly, but were ShadowClan cats ever really friendly? "If I ever train one of your kits...I'll surely make them strong enough to maybe be a leader one day...." Though she was once an enemy, he felt bad for her, in his own...cold, emotionless way. The apprentice looked away, his icy eyes cold and probably uncaring.

Echosong smelled the apprentice, and she turned to face him before he had become visible. "Train them?" She spat. "Of course you will! ShadowClan will be a wonderful place to stay, and let them train! In fact, Why don't we stay until I become an elder?" Her face was screwed into a gruesome mask of anger. "Let this be known. I'm only staying until my kits are old enough to travel." The vow was half-hearted, and she knew it probably wasn't true. Looking away, she stared out into the darker parts of the forest, thinking of her past. And of the few nights she had actually been alone. Those hadn't ended very well, Had they? An attack, and an owl. Both dead and gone, but locked forever in her mind, etched into stone.
Echo lashed her tail. "And don't call me that. I hate that name. It's Echo, got it?" She spat the words angrily, Not looking at the apprentice. Why had she been given a Clan name? It wasn't important, was it? Of course, She was disguised, Wasn't she? At Gatherings or events or things, Of course they would need to think she was a clan cat. Of course, with her scars and dulled claws? It wouldn't work out, would it. "What are you doing without that insanity you call a mentor?"
