Physical Description:
Rainstar is a sleek yet muscular she-cat, her pelt length is short and has a glossy sheen to it because of her Riverclan heritage, which makes the water slip off her pelt easily after exiting a river or stream she may have swam across. She has a muscular build to her, yet she is on the slender side, which helps her swim strongly against harsh currents in the water. Her legs are long and powerful, which also help her to swim in the rivers of Riverclan with ease. The colour of her pelt is a misty grey in colour, which makes her blend into the darkish waters of some of the streams in the territory that she resides in. Her teeth and claws are long and sharp like all cats, making them strong weapons in combat against other cats. Rainstar’s eyes are a light orange in colour, with flecks of hazel and gold within them, almost making them look like the sun against a dark rain cloud. She has a couple of scars from battles in the past, she has a rather obvious one along her back and a few others which are hidden from view by her fur.Quick Description:
A muscular she-cat with misty grey fur and amber eyesPersonality:
Determined and slightly stubborn is something to mention about this she-cat, if she has his mind set on something, don’t expect her to stop until it is completed, she won’t get mad at you if you tell her to stop, she’ll probably just tell you she’ll be back once the little project is finished. Rainstar is a friendly she-cat and is willing to spark up conversations at gatherings and share tongues with her clan, she doesn’t particularly like being alone most of the day and generally tends to help with hunting and boarder patrols whenever she can. She likes to visit the nursery as well, seeing how the kits are doing as they grow up and seeing each kit’s personality so she can match them to a mentor at a later date. In her mind, every new clan life should be celebrated and she comes to visit the kits when she can. However, Rainstar can have a rather short fuse and can be angered easily if you know what gets to her the most. She can have a rather sharp tongue but tends to keep it in if there are kits around or if she feels that it won’t gain anything from showing her anger. She’ll always try to keep a promise and doesn’t really like to keep secrets from her clan, though, if she believes it would benefit everyone if the words are to be kept hidden, she wont say anything.History:
Rainstar is a loyal member of Riverclan, this she-cat always looks out for her clan like a Queen for her kits and she always has the clan’s safety at heart. If she was pushed into a choice, she would choose the option that would benefit her beloved clan. Of course, if she feels the need to she will consult her Deputy or Senior Warriors for their opinion on the matter to see what they feel about the situation. Rainstar has a fair sense of judgment and is always willing to hear two sides of a story before making an option, she always gives everyone a fair hearing no matter what clan they are from or what they have done, however, if the cat has done something particularly bad, she will make sure they have no chance of attacking or running away until she has heard what they have to say. Another thing to mention is that this she-cat likes to be prepared for anything, if she is going to send her warriors into battle with another clan, she would make up at least two plans of action and think about what the other clan might do, before going to battle so she is ready for anything.
Patient and understanding, Rainstar is a pretty fine warrior and mentor, which she has proven before with her first apprentice. She gets on well with apprentices because of her determined and patient attitude, though she is known to be able to push them if they are falling behind and isn’t afraid to give them a stern word of they aren’t doing as they are told.
Rainstar is a fierce and loyal companion with a determined and patient attitude, fit with a laid back attitude, though would fight with her life to protect her clan and what she believes is right.
Born to the oldest Queen of Riverclan, Rainstar was then simply known as Rainkit, her mother was practically an elder and Rainkit had been a part of her last litter. Her father was one of the senior warriors of the clan and was too, about to retire to the elders den after a long service to the clan. As Rainkit grew few her first few moons, her mother told her and her siblings all about the Starclan and the clans that ruled the forest, as well as loners and rouges. Rainkit was very interested in the life of the warrior, and seemed eager to become a warrior as fast as she could so that she could be of service to her clan. When Rainkit became six moons, she was old enough to become an apprentice and along with her siblings she received her apprentice name, Rainpaw and was to be mentored by the warrior, Nettleleaf.IC:
Nettleleaf was a pretty good mentor, though he was known to push Rainkit pretty hard to stop her from slacking and falling behind. He often made her tests a little harder than most, making her a little more experienced thanks to him giving her difficult situations to tackle, making her mature and toughen up. She earned her warrior name at the age of 12 moons after a fierce battle for territory against Windclan, in this battle she managed to hold her own, acting like a true warrior and saving one of her fellow apprentices from a blow which could have killed him or seriously injured the tom. She was given the warrior name Rainpool, along with her friend Stonepaw, whom became Stoneclaw.
She led a comfortable amount of moons as a warrior and at the age of 18 moons she gave birth to her first litter of kits, one male and one female. Rainpool joined the ranks of a warrior again after her kits became apprentices and she resumed the life that she once had. She went on boarder patrols with her fellow warriors and father of her kits, Stoneclaw. The two had a healthy relationship and the two were like best friends as well as mates, which made conversations a lot easier and she felt completely at ease with him. At the age of 25 moons, Stoneclaw became deputy of Riverclan and Rainpool couldn’t have been more proud for her mate, though they had less time to spend together than they had before, the two still kept the close bond that they shared.
However, only two moons after her mate became deputy of the clan, a fierce storm hit the forest and caused horrific floods, the rivers of Riverclan burst their banks and disaster struck. The clan raced to reach higher ground, however in the struggle, two of Rainpool’s sister’s, Whitecloud; kits were washed away on their nest. Stoneclaw raced to save the kits from drowning in the dark waters, however the current was too strong and after passing Whitecloud one of her kits and swimming to get the other, he was dragged under the water by a large thick tree branch. Stoneclaw and the other kit drowned and the whole clan mourned for the lives that were lost during the floods. Rainpool was offered the position of deputy after that by the current leader Swiftstar and despite the pain she felt for the death of her mate, she accepted the position.
At the age of 39 moons, Rainpool became Rainstar after Swiftstar’s last life was taken away when the camp was attacked by Shadowclan. Rainstar has been leader of Riverclan for 22 moons.
The sudden angry rumble of the dark sky caused the small patrol to glance up at the cloud filled sky, the skies were a deadly black in colour, a storm was coming and from the looks of it, it wasn’t going to be a pleasant one. The Riverclan hunting patrol were currently on their way back from a hunt to feed the clan when the snarl of thunder echoed across the forest, among the cats was a misty grey she-cat, Rainpool, the deputy of Riverclan and with her was a senior warrior and his apprentice. Rainpool was gently carrying a plump fish firmly in her jaws, the scent of the fresh kill covered her nose but the desire that a cat would normally have for tearing into the fish had been firmly pushed away, the clan was to be fed first and she had no intention of breaking the Warrior Code because of the delicious scent that wafted into her nostrils. A glint of satisfaction flashed through her amber eyes as she walked steadily towards the direction of the camp, this would sure please the queens at the nursery, they would want some fresh kill by now, since they could not go hunt for themselves since they needed to look after their kits. Another rumble ripped through the forest, causing the cats ears to twitch slightly, however, they did not flinch as new-leaf always brought rain to the forest around this time of year.Codeword: -NO CODEWORD FOR CHEATERS!
Rainpool stiffened a moment later, her heart pounded a little faster as she heard the sound of paws crashing through the plants of the forest, however, she could not smell the cat for the stench of the fresh kill blocked other scents from reaching her. Dropping her prey on the ground, Rainpool crouched into a defensive position and the rest of the hunting party did the same, they could not take any chances in case it was another clan cat. Tension clouded thickly in the air as the sound of the pounding of paws reached closer, and a wave of relief rushed through Rainpool as she recognised the young cat that bounded as fast as his paws could carry him towards the hunting patrol. "Owlpaw? What’s going on?" She asked with a concerned tone in her voice as she glanced at the small apprentice, his sides heaving as he fought for breath as he skidded to a stop in front of his deputy.
Rainpool eyed the brown tabby tom for a moment as he started to splutter out some words that she could not quite understand, worry glazed over her as she scanned him more closely. Despite looking out of breath from the sprint, fresh scratches could be seen along his body and he seemed tired, his fur bristling with fear and anger that the misty deputy could smell. Something was clearly wrong and it looked like the apprentice had been in a fierce battle before he had arrived. The words ‘Shadowclan’ and ‘camp’ simply caused Rainpool to place the pieces together, her fur bristled in anger as she quickly turned to the warrior and apprentice. "We must leave, now!" It was an order that the Riverclan cats didn’t need to be told twice and abandoning the fresh kill where it was dropped, they raced towards the camp that they knew was being attacked.
Rainpool’s heart pounded in her chest and her ears, it was the only sound that she could hear as she charged through the forest, darting from side to side to avoid the trees in her path. Small droplets started to cascade down from the storm clouds slowly, crashing against her pelt, however she didn’t seem to notice the start of the rain, her mind was already focused on getting back to camp as quickly as possible. Her clan needed her, she had to help protect the kits, elders and warriors alike in their home, she didn’t know what she would do if she arrived at the camp to find their warriors defeated against the Shadowclan warriors. Another worry bubbled up inside of her about her leader, Swiftstar, the old tom was already getting on in his age and despite being a strong opponent, she knew that the courageous leader was on his last life and she couldn’t allow him to be killed if she could help it. The black and white tom had been there for her in the time that she needed comfort of words of wisdom, he had been there for all of them, been there for Riverclan.
Golden eyes suddenly caught sight of the battle in the Riverclan camp, warriors of all shapes and sizes were tearing at each other, as well as the Riverclan queens and apprentices, the medicine cat was in the nursery with the kits and the elders. Fury pulsed through her as quick as a poisonous bite from a snake and with a furious battle cry, Rainpool charged down the ravine and into the mass of hissing and yowling cats. Swiftly, the grey she-cat barged into a large battle scared tom, whom had pinned down one of the young apprentices, with a startled yowl, the white tom crashed to the ground and before he could pull himself up, Rainpool was on him. An unnatural calmness pulsed through her as she bit and clawed at the tom, raking her claws along his soft belly to end the fight between them with no mercy. The white tom pounded out of the camp with a yowl of anger from being beaten by the she-cat, Rainpool had no time to rest as the yowls continued all around her and from all directions. Just as she was about to pounce on another Shadowclan warrior, a heavy weight slammed into her, pain stabbed in her back as a Shadowclan she-cat attached herself to Rainpool’s back, biting her furiously causing the deputy to yowl in pain from the sudden attack from behind. With a hiss of anger and her heart pounding violently in her chest, Rainpool suddenly let herself drop to the ground, the sound of the Shadowclan warrior echoed in her ear as the grey deputy landed on her in the mud that the, now heavy rain, had created. With a flash of claws and teeth, Rainpool soon sent the warrior running out of the camp with speed that Rainpool thought only a Windclan cat could run.
Bounding forward with an aching feeling in her chest, Rainpool raced towards the nursery entrance, she passed her kits, Cloudpelt and Ivyleaf, whom were battling together against a huge Shadowclan warrior and raced away from the rest of her clan mates. A fire of determination burned within her as she could smell the fear scent of the elders, kits and medicine cat from the nursery that she had spotted the Shadowclan deputy slink into. With a sudden furious yowl, Rainpool burst into the nursery and slid between the medicine cat and Shadowclan deputy before tackling the large black tom out of the protected nursery and into the pounding rain. "Don’t even think about it!" She spat in a low voice, her eyes showed nothing but courage and anger as her pelt bristled, her gaze fixed upon the deputy before her. With a sudden clash of Lightning and rumble of thunder, the two deputys crashed into one another with fangs and claws, their strength evenly matched as Rainpool felt every hit upon her, each one stinging more than the last. Stuggling under the weight of the Deputy, Rainpool’s heart hammered in her chest as she slashed at the Shadowclan warrior on her however, a sudden yowl of retreat boomed through the Riverclan camp and quickly, the Shadowclan cats darted out of the camp.
Pulling herself to her paws, Rainpool ignored the feel of the rain against her pelt and the throbbing of the wounds that had been inflicted upon her. Her amber eyes stayed transfixed on a blood stained black and white shape, her breath caught in her throat as she silently watched the medicine cat race past her and begin checking the tom over. The rest of the clan, battered and bleeding stared with horror at the sight, standing back from the scene with a look of terror on their faces that Rainpool was sure that would be burned, unwillingly, into her memory. "Swiftstar.. No" She breathed with horror, it felt as if she was sinking into the muddy ground, unable to move as she watched the medicine cat glance up in her direction with a painful look shadowing her face which soon printed out on every cat. Despite the aching feeling that grasped at her heart, Rainpool forced her paws to move towards the battered and beaten leader, despite her bodies protests of wanting to just collapse on the ground where she was standing. It felt like moons before she got to her leaders side, the black and white tom’s eyes were barely open, as if he was struggling to try and keep awake. Despite the crimson blood that poured from his body, the great leader still uttered a small smile at his loyal deputy whom looked like she was about to break right before him. Rainpool’s almond shaped eyes widened slightly before closing as she listened to Swiftstar’s final words and breath, before his body fell still.
‘Make your Warrior ancestors proud, I know you will be a great Riverclan leader..’ The words sunk into Rainpool’s memory as she leaned down towards her leader and gently licked his blood stained pelt. The rain continued to fall and mix with the crimson blood that had stained the camp ground, a devastated yowl echoed through the camp from the grey deputy and the Riverclan cats, as the rain continued to fall, like Starclan was crying as well for the fallen leader.
