xx. - Brokenbrook slowly padded across the stones before the entrance to the Moonpool. She could see the water reflected on the rocks, a pretty, shimmering blue. Slipping through the entrance, she remembered how many paws had come through there, and she let her own slide into the prints. The moon was high in the sky, but Brokenbrook didn't need to rush in the least. She was already there. Dipping her head, she licked up a few drops of water, lay down, then slept.
xx. - Brokenbrook blinked her eyes open. The forest stretched out a little ways around her. It glittered, shimmering like the Moonpool. The queen padded forward, her fur prickling. As soon as she passed a tree, she saw why it was so sparkly. StarClan warriors sat or stood in a big circle. She made her way through it to the center.

Various shapes moved around, their pelts full of starlight and mist. Nine cats stood before this ginger she-cat, staring at her with bright eyes. They were welcoming her with open paws. The first cat traveled up, he was oh so familiar to this she-cat. He smiled sadly, for he had once been her mentor. He had been hunting when a badger had attacked him, killing him and sending him to this star-filled place.
Creamstep opened his muzzle, "With this life, I give you courage. Use it well to defend your clan." With that he leaned forward, touching his nose to hers, giving her the life, and the pain of his death. Creamstep leaned forward, rubbing his chin lightly on top of her head. With that he turned away, rejoining the cats that surrounded the clearing. Another familiar cat came forward, Slushstar. You could feel the pride radiating off of his star-filled pelt, it was solid cream with a few stripes along his back, and long.
"With this life, I give you justice. Use it well to judge the actions of others," he like Creamstep, lowered his head, touching his nose to hers, filling her with the life, and the pain of loosing his last life. The old leader turned and rejoined the group. A not so familiar cat came up, her coat black with hints of brown. Frosteyes, she had been a leader once, but retired and died of old age. She had given one kit to RiverClan long ago, she knew her line was distant within RiverClan. The ice-blue eyes stared at her, like frost.
"With this life I give you loyalty to what you believe to be right. Use it well to guide your clan in times of trouble," she spoke, her voice aged and wiry. The black cat lowered her head to touch her nose to Brokenbrook's, filling her with the life and the pain of her death. Frosteyes gave a final look at the ginger she-cat, before turning and rejoining the others. Coming from the group was a much younger cat. A light brown tabby, who looked happy to see Brokenbrook.
"With this life I give you tireless energy. Use it well to carry out the duties of a leader," the young cat said, she was only a kit. Leaning up she pressed her nose against the she-cat's before trotting off to rejoin the group. The kit looked back at her with soulful blue eyes before disappearing within the crowd. Another cat came forth, her pelt light gray and fluffy, her eyes bright gold. Rainfur, an old queen of RiverClan, her line no longer ran through, as her only daughter to was with her in StarClan.
"With this life I give you protection. Use it well to care for your clan as a mother cares for her kits," the solid gray she-cat said softly, before touching her nose to the she-cat's nose, not only was her pain given, but a vision of the gray she-cat's death. She had thrown herself into the rocks, drowning in the water. Rainfur pulled back, pain filling her eyes. Turning she rejoined the group, sitting beside a gray tabby. Another not so familiar cat came forth, eyes blazing, a calico. This was Moonshine, she was a RiverClan warrior, but died in battle. She had mentored quite a few apprentices in her lifetime.
"With this life I give you mentoring. Use it well to train the young cats of your clan," Moonshine spoke softly, her aged eyes filled with pride. Lowering her head she touched her nose to Brokenbrook's, filling her with the life and the pain. The calico gave a sort of sad smile as she pulled away, backing up into the crowd. There was a hush, and the cats parted, revealing a very old siamese she-cat, her blue eyes still bright with life. She had been killed by a traitor long ago. She was Willowstar, once the leader of ShadowClan.
"With this life I give you compassion. Use it well for the elders of your clan and for all cats weaker than you," Willowstar spoke, her voice booming, full of life, though she was so old. Ninety moons. Only a few more and she could have died peacefully of old age. No, her last life had been taken by force. Willowstar lowered her head, touching her nose to Brokenbrook's, a vision came with this life, along with pain. The fight she had lost with a large ginger tabby, Tigerfang. Pulling away Willowstar bowed her head, muttering prayers that were mere whispers against the wind. Looking up Willowstar gave her one last look before joining the cats.
The gray tabby she-cat that had been sitting with Rainfur came forward, her golden eyes bright. "With this life I give you love. Use it well for the cats in your care," she spoke softly, Appletree was her name. Touching her nose to Brokenbrook's she gave the life, the pain came as well. Appletree shivered against the touch, moving away quickly she sat down beside her mother. Again there was a hush, the cats moved into a circle, bowing their heads. A large furry gray tom came forth, his blue eyes staring down at Brokenbrook.
"With this life I give you noblilty and certainty and faith. Use it well as you lead your clan in the ways of StarClan and the warrior code," his voice boomed, this was Torrentstar, one of the famous RiverClan leader's that ruled before Brokenbrook's time. He bent down to give her the life, pain filling it. Torrentstar stepped back, his eyes full of pride. "I hail you by your new name, Brokenstar. Your old life is no more. You have now received the nine live of a leader and StarClans grants you the guardianship of RiverClan. Defend it well, care for young and old, honor your ancestors and the warrior code. Live each life with pride and dignity." The cats gathered close behind the gray tom.
"Brokenstar! Brokenstar! Brokenstar!"
With that, the cats started to disappear, slowly but surely. The brown tabby kit smiled before leaning up at Brokenstar, "I am Dreamkit from ShadowClan...you and the other leaders shall be seeing me veeeery soon...." Her mystifying blue eyes sparkled like crystal water, and she turned, scampering off into the starlight, leaving the she-cat to awaken.

xx. - Brokenbro-- no, Brokenstar- blinked at the young kit, awakening a moment later. Blinking repeatedly, Brokenstar stood and stretched. Thank you, StarClan. She turned and shook her pelt, padding out of the shimmering cave. The moon was low, and the sky was lighting up. That had certainly been a magical night, and Brokenstar was proud to have experienced it. It was just too bad the new WindClan leader's name was like an ancient but evil cat's. I'll never be like him. With that, she left and returned to camp.
